Moisturizers are where personal preference and skin type play a larger role. However, it is non-negotiable that all skin types must moisturize, even oily skin. Moisturizers are packed with great ingredients that will nurture and replenish the skin. They are also the step in the skincare routine where powerful anti-aging ingredients are introduced. There are several things to consider when selecting a moisturizer:
Skin type: If your skin is dehydrated, dry, or if you are concerned about signs of aging, it is prudent to use a thicker moisturizer and/or facial oil at night.
Weather: A thicker moisturizer hydrates & protects from the winter elements. A lighter moisturizer is ideal for summer when the viscosity of sebum is reduced.
Sun (SPF): Whether you use a moisturizer with SPF or in conjunction with a sunscreen, sun protection is vital. Using an SPF product at night will clog your pores.
Application: Moisturizer can be used in the morning (underneath sunscreen in the morning) and at night.
